Alexis Chief and Council, the ANSN Recreation Department and the Alexis community members as partners, aim to provide various recreation and sport initiatives which will foster sportsmanship, friendships, a love for sport, respect for recreation and nurture the Alexis people as we strive to be excellent in sport, in education -- in hopes of balanced & healthy lifestyles.
Guiding Principles
In the best interest of all in the community, the Recreation Department will:
- strive with inclusive measures to create, plan, design and implement programs and services, to benefit the Alexis Nakota Sioux community members;
- positively effect the band organization and it's internal departments;
- combine Athletics and Academics.

Hello Everyone
On March 13, 2010 we were able to create an opportunity for skiing to our community members. It was a little pricey but the intention was good and recreational. Our kids and their families had tons of fun. It was a good day.
Please be advised that the ANSN Recreation Dept is planning to have another Rabbit Hill ski event evening again next year. March 5, 2011 is a tentative date at Rabbit Hill. There shall be a bus for transportation (from the reserve) for those who’ll need it. Other details will be posted closer to the event date when it is announced.
This recent event or other opportunities cannot happen without the financial support granted through Northern Isga Foundation. We are very happy to receive their contributions year to year.

ANSN Recreation Department through the ACE Communities Project is in the process of developing an Advisory Circle. This team is set to meet regularly and is planning toward implementing a strategic planning session for the department.
